Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, as the title of the game implies, featured countless combatants and supporters who can bolster your forces. After all, it's the spiritual successor to the Suikoden franchise, so you can bet that you would meet a lot of allies. Here's our guide on how to recruit all characters in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. (If you don't yet own the game, GameSpot sister site Fanatical has Eiyuden Chronicle on sale for $38 right now.) Likewise, please be reminded that this article contains spoilers.
How to recruit all characters in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
There are over 100 unique characters that can join your forces in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. Many are able to participate actively in combat, whereas others offer support buffs or utility functions in your town/headquarters.
Our Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes character recruitment guide is organized partially in chronological order--i.e. when we encountered potential allies. However, we've also made a few changes depending on their locations. - Role: HQ - Pastole also runs the Hunter's Cabin, which produces pelts over time.
Mariette
- Location: Twinhorne East - Mariette tells you that she lost her charm while she was running away from a Rabbit Archwitch. Return to Greatwood (South) and run around until you get a combat encounter with Rabbit Archwitch enemies. If you see a treasure chest, use the Attack/Gimmick command to loot it.

Carrie
- Location: Hishahn - Carrie is one of the most important characters you can recruit in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. That's because she unlocks the teleportation mechanic. You can learn more about her in our fast travel guide.
- Role: Battle - Long-range weapon; spellcaster/healer.

- Role: HQ - Kurtz runs the restaurant where the cook-offs take place.
Celia
- Location: Town HQ - It's going to be a long while before Celia joins up, but it's fitting to mention her now in this part of our Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes character recruitment guide. That's because she becomes part of your squad upon completing most of the cooking challenges.
- Role: Battle - Short-range weapon; melee fighter.
Riufan
- Location: Hishahn - You'll see him in front of a waterwheel, but he'll scoff at Nowa if he's at a lower level. In our case, though, we were able to challenge him once Nowa reached level 33. Once he's been defeated, he'll join your team.
- Role: Battle - Medium-range weapon; melee fighter.
Lam
- Location: Daphan Village - Since we just mentioned Riufan, now would be a good time to talk about his comrade, Lam. Please take note of the potential bug that can occur.
- Role: N/A
Warning: Potential bug - To avoid a nasty bug, do not enter Daphan Village if Riufan has not been recruited yet. Here are the proper steps:
- Once Riufan has been recruited, talk to him in the Town HQ's inn. He'll say that you should bring him to Daphan Village.
- Have Riufan in your party when you first visit Daphan Village. Riufan will remark about how he and Lam are both old now, but he should still be able to recognize her.
- This opens up an opportunity to recruit Lam when you meet a unique NPC.
In our campaign, we accidentally visited Daphan Village prior to recruiting Riufan. The process remained the same (i.e. Riufan's remarks). However, the next event that should trigger a conversation with Lam didn't occur. We even spoke to a unique NPC, but she had no additional dialogue. We're hoping that this gets fixed in time for the game's launch, as this bug prevents you from recruiting all characters in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Perrielle
- Location: Hishahn - The noble scion of House Grum officially joins your army once you enter negotiations with the officials of Hishan.
- Role: Battle - Short-range weapon; healer.

Janquis
- Location: Hishahn - Janquis joins up alongside Perrielle.
- Role: Support - Doubles the baqua (i.e. gold) that you receive at the end of combat.
Aire
- Location: Hishahn - After major events transpire in Hishahn, you'll find her near the lower-left exit. She'll challenge Nowa to a race, which seems to gauge Nowa's speed stat. We were able to defeat her in a race once Nowa had around 165 speed--we gave him a Rune of Swift Speed, as well as the Dash Boots for good measure.
- Role: Support - Doubles movement speed; this effect stacks with the Dash Boots.
Melridge
- Location: Town HQ - This adept strategist is recruited upon winning the army battle at Hishahn.

- Role: HQ - Code L also manages the Rune Shop in your base.
B'baba
- Location: Daphan Village - Among the recruitable characters in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, few can hold a candle to B'baba. That's because she gives you hints as to the whereabouts of other potential allies. You can learn more in our Divination Parlor guide.
- Role: HQ - Manages the aforementioned Divination Parlor.
Faye
- Location: Town HQ - Getting Faye is related to meeting B'baba and making use of the Divination Parlor.

- Role: Battle - Short-range weapon; spellcaster.

- Find the lost cat - This cute cat is at the southwestern part of the city.

- Deliver the Package for Arenside - Return to Arenside and hand over the package to the woman inside the item shop.
- Role: Battle - Long-range weapon; spellcaster/wizard.
Reid
- Location: Eltisweiss - Reid can be found in the southwestern part of the city. However, he won't join you right from the get-go. Instead, you have to challenge and defeat multiple Beigoma players. He basically turns into your rival.
- Role: N/A
Dr. Corque
- Location: Eltisweiss - You can finally enter Dr. Corque's home in the southern portion of Eltisweiss after talking to Reid. Sadly, we've yet to actually recruit him. Our guess is that the process involves collecting rare Beigoma tops based on the outlines of monsters on tablets.
- Role: N/A
Gigina
- Location: Arenside - You can recruit this Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes character when you return to Arenside.
- Role: Battle - Short-range weapon; melee fighter.

Next, go through Shandar Ridge until you reach the desert region just outside Dabavin. Fight monsters until you encounter Scarabs, which might drop an Unknown Antique. Bring this to an appraiser NPC to reveal that it's a Yellow Rose Censer. Finally, hand this over to Jorhan to convince him to join.
- Role: Battle - Long-range weapon; archer/sniper.
Reyna
- Location: Dabavin - Reyna focuses primarily on defense, and she wants you to do a ton of damage to her. You can learn more in our Reyna guide.
- Role: Battle - Short-range weapon; tank.

- Role: Support - Greatly increases the action speed of your party.
- Role: HQ - Rody becomes the base's dedicated appraiser.

- Location: Dabavin - You'll need to amass at least 100,000 baqua. Pay this amount to Prunella, and she'll refund 50,000 baqua in return.
- Role: Battle - Long-range weapon; gunner.
Stadler
- Location: Impershi'arc - To recruit this character in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, you must defeat him in a mock army battle.
- Role: Support - You can select the "All In Formation" option at the start of battle. Allies will act sequentially, starting with the one with the highest speed.
- Role: HQ - Stadler runs the Drill Grounds, which has buffs for troop leaders and units.
Cabana
- Location: Impershi'arc - This fella can be found at the eastern part of the city.
- Role: Support - Randomly causes your party to relax at a hot spring and gain buffs before combat.

- Role: Battle - Short-range weapon; melee fighter.
Quinn
- Location: Impershi'arc - You should come across Quinn while exploring Impershi'arc, though she'd just ignore Nowa. We were able to join her for her own quest upon (a) completing the Impershi'arc main objective, and (b) with Nowa at level 37. The quest takes you to the Den of the Dunes, where you have to chase down the Oyamatsumi boss as it burrows and reemerges all over the area.
- Role: Battle - Medium-range weapon; melee fighter.
Enoe
- Location: Daphan Village - Enoe is one of several who can join the squad once you've constructed Gocteau's Mission Guild in your HQ.

- Role: Mission Guild - Has decent stats similar to other Mission Guild-related characters.
Larla
- Location: Eltisweiss - Go to the inn and speak with Larla. While the hint isn't clear, we believe she only joins once you send out a team that manages to complete their task with a "Critical Success" rating.
- Role: Mission Guild - Has decent stats when sent out on missions.
Durlan
- Location: Abandoned Mines - Use the well at the back of the first floor of your HQ to reach the Abandoned Mines. Then, keep going left and down the narrow tunnels. Upon meeting Durlan, he says that he wants something more interesting. We were able to recruit him a bit later after reaching Town HQ Level 3 and upgrading the Mission Guild in order to unlock new tasks.
- Role: Mission Guild - Has decent stats so he can be sent out on missions.
Paquia
- Location: Arenside - Paquia and her Eggfoot companion are found in Arenside, but you need to collect five Plain Eggs. These are dropped by Eggfoots (or is it Eggfeet?). These enemies spawn on the world map just outside your Town HQ.
- Role: HQ - You need Paquia if you want to build the Racing Stables. This unlocks several functions, such as Eggfoot racing and breeding.
Mandie
- Location: Arenside - This Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes recruitable character joins around the same time as Paquia.
- Role: Support - Increases the drop rate of eggs during battles.
Maureus
- Location: Mountain Path Homeward - Head to the northwestern pathway and have a chat with him. This muscular fella is looking for a powerful member of your squad. We're uncertain of the exact stat value that's required, and whether it’s strength or magic. Some of our party members already had 200 strength/magic by the time we recruited him.
- Role: Battle - Short-range weapon; melee fighter.
Yaelu
- Location: Rune-Lens Research Laboratory - Yaelu and co. join automatically as part of Seign's arc.
- Role: Battle - Medium-range weapon; melee fighter.
- Role: Support - Decreases the chance of triggering random encounters. This makes Yaelu one of the best character recruits in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Ivy
- Location: Rune-Lens Research Laboratory - Ivy joins alongside Yaelu.
- Role: Battle - Short-range weapon; melee fighter and tank.
- Role: Support - Increases the maximum capacity of your resource bag.

- Role: Battle - Medium-range weapon; hybrid fighter/spellcaster.
Garoo
- Location: Town HQ - You've seen Marisa and Garoo before, but this is when they join permanently.
- Role: Battle - Short-range weapon; melee fighter and tank.
CJ
- Location: Town HQ/Runebarrows - Now that you've met both Isha and Garoo, it's time to close out the trifecta by recruiting CJ. You can learn more in our Runebarrows guide.

- Location: Ardinale City - Clarke is looking for a play that has a lot of passion. It seems we've yet to discover this particular collectible.
- Role: HQ - Manages the theater in your town.

Chandra
- Location: Town HQ/Eldroad - Similar to Aleior, there are also a few steps that you need to follow:
- Talk to the soldiers - First, go to the drill grounds of your HQ and talk to the soldiers. Code L should make a remark about the dragon.
- Go to the Eldroad - Bring Code L with you as a support character. Then, make your way to the Eldroad and follow the winding path. The dragon is to the right of a ruined building just before the bridge.
- Defeat the dragon - The dragon will turn hostile as you approach. Defeat it and it will join your army.
- Role: Battle - Short-range weapon; monster unit that takes up two slots.
Goldsmid
- Location: Yarnaan - You'll find him on the second-floor area of Yarnaan. He's looking for someone with sufficient strength. In our case, several of our party members had 200+ strength, with the highest at 240, by the time we recruited him.
- Role: Support - Greatly increases maximum resource bag capacity (+20 stacks).
Note: A certain incident will occur in Yarnaan if you continue with the main objective, and this will prevent you from returning to the settlement for quite a while. As such, it’s important to recruit Goldsmid during Nowa’s first visit to Yarnaan.
Unknown Guardian
- Location: Yarnaan - The Divination Parlor clue pertains to a Guardian in the "Barrows blessed by Proven Verdure." We've checked the Proving Grounds many times but we couldn't find this character. We then checked Yarnaan and saw a unique character perched on a ledge on the second floor. Unfortunately, we were unable to speak to this character as there was no interaction prompt.

- Location: Atrabalt - Kassius also joins when his liege lord does.
- Role: Support - Randomly triggers a charge from Euchrissian cavalry.
Foxiel
- Location: Atrabalt - Go to the eastern marketplace to find her in front of a stall. When she describes a type of food to you, return to the restaurant in your HQ and speak with Kurtz. He'll cook the Vegetable Milk Soup dish, which you can hand over to her.

- Return to Hishahn and cross the bridge to the south of the shops to meet Momo.
- You have to complete his personal quest, which takes place in the Seaside Caverns. He'll unlock the barrier that leads to a sealed-off section.

- Location: Snowpeak Pass - Take the northern path all the way to the section which you weren't able to access before as part of the story (i.e. due to a cutscene). There, you'll stumble upon El Alicanto, and you need to defeat him in a duel.
- Role: Battle - Medium-range weapon; melee fighter.
Dijkstra
- Location: Twinhorne East/Chelonian Goliath Vilashnu - If you're using the Divination Parlor, then the information is incorrect since Dijkstra is actually in Twinhorne East, not Twinhorne West. Accept his mission and you'll be sent to Chelonian Goliath Vilashnu, a dungeon with winding passageways. He'll officially join when you're done with the Goblomancer and Letus boss fight.

Viesskin

- Role: Battle - Short-range weapon; melee fighter.
Leene

- Role: N/A
