Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Is Discounted For The First Time For Nintendo Switch

The remastered RPG just arrived in May, but Walmart is already slashing its price.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door launched on GameCube way back in July 2004. Nearly two decades later, Nintendo revived the game for Switch, which would go on to earn heaps of praise for its improved graphics, new soundtrack, and handful of quality-of-life updates. This Switch version just arrived on May 23, and it's now seeing its first price cut at a major retailer via Walmart.

There's no indication of how long this deal will last, but if you swing over to Walmart's website right now you'll find Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for $53.43 (down from $60). That's the best price since the game's launch a few weeks ago.

Our Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door review gave the game an impressive 9/10, praising it for its dynamic turn-based battle system, gorgeous visuals, and hilarious writing.

"Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for Nintendo Switch is an incredible turn-based RPG that is every bit as charming, witty, and joyful today as it was two decades ago," wrote critic Steven Petite. "Much like 2023's Super Mario RPG, Nintendo didn't mess with the formula so this is the game you know and love, only it's prettier, sounds better, and includes several meaningful quality-of-life updates."

A bunch of other Switch games are seeing discounts at Walmart and Best Buy, so you can add a few other games beyond The Thousand-Year Door to your collection for cheap. Here are the best deals
