Comments

Evil Dead is one of the most iconic horror franchises around, spanning multiple decades and encompassing five films--most of which were well-received by both critics and fans. Evil Dead (2013) is arguably the most unique film in the series, as it served as a hybrid reboot/sequel for the franchise and introduced the gore-fest to a new generation of theatergoers. Fast forward to today, and Evil Dead is finally getting a limited-edition steelbook release on 4K Blu-ray. Preorders are now open, with a launch date scheduled for August 20.

Evil Dead 4K Limited Edition Steelbook Special Features

As you'd expect from a fresh Blu-ray release, you'll get heaps of special features along with your movie. Here's a look at what else is included with your purchase:

  • Theatrical version and Unrated version of the film
  • 4K restoration by Sony
  • Audio commentary with actors Jane Levy, Lou Taylor Pucci, director Fede Alvarez, and writer Rodo Sayagues
  • "Directing the Dead" featurette
  • "Evil Dead The Reboot" featurette
  • "Making Life Difficult" featurette
  • "Unleashing The Evil Force" featurette
  • "Being Mia" featurette
  • Theatrical trailer

Evil Dead (2013) was brought to life by the producers of The Evil Dead (1981). It follows five friends who stumble upon the Book of the Dead--which accidentally releases a demon, who subsequently hunts them down one by one. It's a gory, over-the-top film, and fans of horror movies will find much to love about this unique reboot. And now that you can get it in 4K with an included steelbook and loads of extras, it's a great time to add it to your collection.
