Game developer Goichi Suda, who is also known as Suda51, has promised that his studio will work on games for the Switch successor. Speaking to VGC, Suda51 said he has "no idea" what the next Nintendo console will look like, but is excited to see what it turns out to be.

He went on to say that the Switch, which launched in 2017, is a great "all-around" platform and that he struggles to think of anything about the console that isn't "good enough." As such, he wasn't able to pin down any one specific thing he hopes the next Nintendo console delivers, but in any case, he's promised that his team will show up to develop for it.

Now Playing: Shadows of the Damned Remaster Announcement Trailer

"I don't have anything in particular that I can think of as far as new features I want to see in the next-gen iteration of it are concerned, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what Nintendo does with it. They've always done revolutionary stuff for software and the video game industry in general. I'm super excited for the next console, especially since we're definitely gonna cook for it."

Suda51 is the founder and CEO of Japanese game developer Grasshopper Manufacture, and some of the work he's best known for includes The Silver Case, Killer7, No More Heroes, and Lollipop Chainsaw. A remastered version of Lollipop Chainsaw is in the works and set for release this year, but Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture are not involved.

Grasshopper Manufacture's next release is the "Hella Remastered" version of Shadows of the Damned, which is set for release this year. More details on the game are coming this week.

As for the next Nintendo console, Nintendo has not announced it yet but the first details about it are expected to be released in the next year.
